The Local Citation Sites List Pakistan Businesses Need
Most citation advice is written for the United States and quietly useless here. These are the twenty places a Pakistani business listing actually gets corroborated.
Why the usual citation list does not transfer to Pakistan
Open any citation guide and you get the same fifty names: Yelp, Angi, Thumbtack, BBB, Nextdoor. In Pakistan most of those have either no presence, no traffic, or no mechanism for verifying a Pakistani address. Submitting to them costs hours and corroborates nothing.
A citation is not a backlink and it is not traffic. It is a third-party record stating that a business with this name, at this address, with this phone number, exists. Google weighs the consistency of those records as corroboration for what your Google Business Profile claims. A directory nobody in Pakistan uses provides no corroboration however many you submit to.
A worked example. A client in Lahore arrived having paid for three hundred citation submissions. I checked a sample of forty: eleven were dead links, nine sat on domains with no Pakistani content at all, and six rendered the business name three different ways. The net effect was slightly negative, because inconsistent records contradict the profile rather than support it. We corrected what we could and rebuilt from a list of twenty. Rankings moved within six weeks.
Local citation sites list Pakistan: the 20 that count
Domains are given as plain text rather than links. Work down the list in order, using one identical name, address and phone string throughout.
1. Google Business Profile
business.google.com
The master record everything else corroborates. Set the name exactly as it appears on your signage and registration, never with a service or city appended, and complete every field including services, attributes and hours.
2. Bing Places
bingplaces.com
Feeds Bing Maps and Copilot, and will import straight from your Google profile in a few clicks. Low effort, and almost no Pakistani competitor has bothered.
3. Apple Business Connect
businessconnect.apple.com
Powers Apple Maps and Siri. Routinely skipped in Pakistan, and it feeds every iPhone map query in the country. Free and takes about fifteen minutes.
4. Facebook Page
facebook.com
Still the most-used business surface in Pakistan after Google itself. Complete the address, hours and contact fields properly rather than treating it as a social account.
5. Foursquare
foursquare.com
Primarily a location data supplier now, feeding business records into a long list of apps and services. One submission propagates further than its own traffic suggests.
6. HERE Maps
here.com
Supplies map data to car navigation systems and a range of third-party apps. Free listing, rarely claimed by Pakistani businesses.
7. TomTom
tomtom.com
The other major navigation data supplier. Same reasoning as HERE: small effort, and it reaches surfaces Google does not.
8. SECP company register
secp.gov.pk
If you are a registered company this is the strongest identity record you have, because it is the hardest to fake. Make sure the registered name and address agree with your profile, or reconcile them deliberately.
9. Chamber of Commerce membership
fpcci.org.pk
Your local chamber under the FPCCI umbrella publishes a member directory. An authoritative local record on a credible domain, and most competitors never claim or correct theirs.
10. Pakistan Software Export Board
pseb.org.pk
For IT, software and BPO firms only, and for those it is one of the most credible records available. Registration also carries tax implications worth discussing with your accountant.
11. Pakistan Yellow Pages
yellowpages.com.pk
The longest-running general business directory with genuine Pakistani data. Not a traffic source. It is a consistent domestic record, which is the point.
12. PakistanYP
pakistanyp.com
A second general directory with reasonable coverage across the major cities. Quick submission, keeps the domestic record set consistent.
13. BusinessList.pk
businesslist.pk
Country-specific directory with a straightforward submission process and category structure that actually fits Pakistani businesses.
14. FindPK
findpk.com
One of the older Pakistani web directories. Dated in appearance and still indexed, which is all a citation needs to be.
15. Hamariweb business directory
hamariweb.com
Sits on a domain with genuine Pakistani traffic, which makes the record more credible than a standalone directory of the same size.
16. Cylex Pakistan
cylex.com.pk
International network with a working Pakistan section that accepts local addresses and phone formats properly.
17. Hotfrog Pakistan
hotfrog.pk
Another international network with a real country section. Free listing, fast submission, consistent structure.
18. Tuugo Pakistan
tuugo.pk
Low-effort international directory. Worth doing once, carefully, as part of the baseline rather than as a priority.
19. Yalwa Pakistan
yalwa.pk
Completes the international network set. Submit the identical details and move on; there is nothing to optimise here.
20. Zameen, Daraz or TradeKey
zameen.com · daraz.pk · tradekey.com
Pick whichever matches your sector: Zameen for property, Daraz for retail, TradeKey for exporters. A vertical record where your buyers already are is worth more than three general directories.
The Pakistani details that break consistency
Three things cause more citation damage here than the choice of directory ever does.
Phone formatting. The same number appears as 0316 919 0573, +92 316 919 0573, 0092 316 9190573 and 03169190573 across different listings, and the matching that corroborates your profile does not always reconcile them. Pick the international format with the plus sign, write it down, and paste that exact string everywhere.
Address rendering. Pakistani addresses are written inconsistently by nature: block versus phase, sectors abbreviated or not, Main Boulevard versus M.M. Alam Road, town name included or dropped. Fix one canonical version including capitalisation and punctuation, and paste it rather than retyping. Retyping is where variants are born.
Name transliteration. A business whose signage is in Urdu gets rendered several ways in Roman script, and once two versions circulate they compound. Use the version on your SECP registration or your signage, never a keyword-stuffed variant, which is the most common cause of suspension in this market.
A worked example. A clinic I audited had its name recorded eight ways across its listings, differing only in whether Dr was followed by a full stop and whether the suburb was included. Nothing else was wrong. Standardising the name and phone across the live citations, with no new submissions at all, lifted it from the edge of the map pack into it over about two months.
What to skip, and what order to work in
Audit before you submit. Search your business name and your phone number in quotes and see what already exists. Most established businesses have between five and thirty records they never created, and several will be wrong. Correcting a wrong record is worth more than adding a new one.
Then work the list above in order, pacing it across a few weeks rather than an afternoon. Twenty submissions landing within an hour is a pattern; the same twenty across a month is not.
Skip paid packages selling hundreds of citations: the count is the product being sold and the count is not what works, as the Lahore example shows. Skip any directory that cannot accept a Pakistani address properly. Skip dead directories with no Pakistani content, which you can check in thirty seconds by searching the site for businesses in your city. And skip anything requiring a name variant to fit a category field, because a record that contradicts your real name is worse than no record.
Citations are the floor of local search, not the ceiling. They make the profile defensible so categories, reviews and content can work. If you want the whole sequence rather than this one piece, that is what a local SEO expert in Pakistan should be setting up, and it is the same groundwork behind the profile work in Karachi and the full Google Business Profile optimisation I run elsewhere. The diagnostic order is set out in how to do a local SEO audit.
